Introduction
Taxonomy unit - Chapter 7 in Nelson text.
This is the start of the year in Biology 11 as per class agenda posted and discussed at the start of each biology block. The rest will be posted on the student's agenda - they are responsible to write it down in class each block. Please ask for it. This is the way parents/quardians know what is going on in class each block. The agenda has time frames for all projects and all dates for labs, work packages and tests. With the exception a handful of labs that are due within 1 block of the lab - most work is done in packages - due in approximately 3 week intervals. Due to the amount of time given to complete any homework or missed work in that package - lates for that package should be minimal and will usually be given a completion mark only if late. When the packages are returned marked (within 2 weeks) - work will not be accepted.

Please help your child keep up with his/her course responsibilities by
checking the assignments/homework agenda at the front of their Biology binder.
Then ask your son/daughter if all is handed in.
Thank you in advance for partnering with me in your childs education.
Students will need a duotang for handing in packages of work (a unit at a time), binder c/w paper for daily notes and a black or regular blue pen and a pencil. Pencil crayons, rulers and highlighters will be used on and off. All diagrams must be drawn and labelled in pencil. I try to keep a class set of supplies for as long as possible - crayons, pencils, rulers and some extra lined paper, however I cannot supply materials for all students for each block so please follow up periodically with your child and see they have what is needed to succeed. Thank you in advance
** Please ask your child to keep any electronics and phones out of our class learning environment. As you know - this has become a major problem for many students and a distraction with regards to focus and success in class. Thank you for having this discussion with your child.
