Flex Block

Students are welcome to come and work or read in the Library during Flex. They need to get a spot reserved for them by a subject teacher.

Student need to talk to the subject teacher of the work they plan to do in the library and get them to sign them up online (if you plan to work on English talk to your English teacher). There are 30 spots available and they fill up so plan ahead and get your spot reserved early.

Computer Use

Library Computers are for school work. Appropriate use is expected of all students. If a computer does not work please let a Librarian or the Library Clerk know immediately.

There are 8 Laptops that students can sign out for 1 block at a time. They are on a first come first served basis.

Laptop carts may be booked by teachers. There is a 30 Laptop cart and a 16 Laptop cart.

Teacher Librarians

Mr. K. Thomson, received his MEd from UBC (2000), BEd from UBC (1992), BBA from SFU (1987) and a Certificate in Teacher Librarianship from UBC (2019). He has taught at Garibaldi Secondary School since 1989. Before joining the staff at Garibaldi he taught at Pitt Meadows and was a TTOC in Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows and Mission. While at Garibaldi he has taught Accounting, Economics, Marketing, Business Education 8-10, Planning, Business Computer Applications, Business Information Management and Entrepreneurship. As part of the IB Diploma program he taught Economics HL and SL. He has also served as the Department Head for Applied Skills and Fine Arts as well as on various committees including: Staff Committee, Time Table and Awards. As of Fall 2017 he moved into the Librarian position fulltime. GSS Librarian Blog some Library stuff and some Economics.

Ms. K. Thompson teaches English and as of the Fall 2019 she also has a block in the Library.

Library Clerk

Ms. T. Miller has worked in various schools in the district. She joined the Garibaldi Staff in the Fall of 2019. She works in the school office as well as working in the Library.
